Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One Brand, is hiring a Construction Technician I/II to join our field team in Arkansas. You will install and maintain underground and aerial infrastructure, work with fiber, coax, copper, and power equipment, and support expansions in service areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years in aerial/underground construction in cable/telephone.
• Proficient in all essential duties and responsibilities.
• Loads and transports heavy equipment.
• Reads maps/prints/drawings to determine materials/equipment.
• Surveys job sites with safety considerations.
• Follows OSHA/NESC and company safety regulations.
• May require day/evening/night shifts, overtime, weekends, travel.

Responsibilities

• Installs underground conduit, handholes, pedestals, cabinets and row markers.
• Uses trenching, plowing, digging and horizontal drilling methods.
• Installs aerial cable, poles and hardware; frames and transfers cables.
• climbs utility poles or uses ladders as needed.
• Operates crew vehicles and construction equipment.
• Performs line maintenance for subscriber-based electronics.
• Traffic control flagging duties as needed.
• Maintains assets in safe operating condition.
