Construction Technician/Handyman Maintenance and Repair

Overview

Ameritech Facility Services is seeking a full-time, experienced jack-of-all-trades technician/handyman willing to travel and assist clients with building repairs, primarily in retail and restaurant settings. Candidates should have at least 5 years of carpentry experience and a basic understanding of electrical, flooring, and plumbing. Must pass a background check.

Compensation

• Helper: Up to $60,000/year (pay based on projects)
• Technician: Up to $80,000/year (pay based on projects)

Responsibilities

• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, roofing, concrete, stucco, fencing, asphalt, carpet, and tile repairs
• Use basic tools and follow instructions for installation or assembly
• Handle various projects, including heavy lifting, standing, bending, and reaching
• Work primarily during daytime hours; some nights and weekends may be required
• Manage time effectively, follow instructions, and communicate effectively
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably in restaurants
• Ability to travel regionally (50-75%)
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal transportation
• Tools including drills, saws, hammers, ladders, cords, shop vac, caulking gun; specialty tools rented as needed
• Good communication skills, basic computer skills, and ability to use a cell phone for emails and apps

Additional Information

This role involves travel, including possible out-of-state assignments. Duties and responsibilities may be reassigned as needed. The position is full-time, and physical demands include lifting, standing, and bending. Most work is during the day, with some night/weekend work.
