Job summary

HandCraft Linen Services in Richmond, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of equipment and facilities. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems while maintaining productive uptime and safety standards.

This 40-hour-per-week role offers 4–10s shifts with early AM and PM starts, plus benefits. You will document activities, support other departments, and train junior technicians in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with strong electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Safety compliance: follow all safety protocols and correct hazards.
• Preventative maintenance: inspect and service equipment regularly.
• Troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose and fix mechanical/electrical issues.
• Operational support: assist other departments to maximize equipment effectiveness.

Location: Richmond, VA / Schedule: See Below / $31.87 to $37.26 Hourly with Excellent Benefits.

We are actively seeking a detail-oriented and hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital part of our operations, responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our equipment and facilities. If you have a keen eye for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and thrive in a dynamic maintenance environment, we encourage you to apply. Our Maintenance Technicians work a 40 hour work week, working 4 – 10’s.

Early AM and Early PM start times.

Maintenance Technician 3 And/or 4 Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and carry out preventative maintenance procedures and tasks on equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Operational Support: Work with other departments to ensure overall equipment effectiveness.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians and relevant departments to coordinate maintenance activities, share knowledge, and provide technical support when needed.
• Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge within the team.
• Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Technician 3 And/or 4 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Additional technical certifications preferred)
• Has a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or equivalent.
• Has excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Has excellent working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
• Has excellent understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
• Proficient in the use of electrical/mechanical diagnostic, testing, and measurement tools.
• Has a great team focused attitude.
• Is excited to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MSPs, and other Automation components.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Is physically able to perform the duties of the job.
• Is able to operate support equipment (i.e. Forklifts, Scissor Lifts)
• Has strong communication skills.
• Is willing to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
