Job summary

Pete Fowler Construction seeks a Technical Consultant to assist Technical Experts in delivering fast, cost-effective solutions to complex building problems. You will inspect structures, analyze documents, prepare summaries, and communicate findings clearly to clients.

This role requires strong writing and verbal skills, ability to lead analyses, document with photos and checklists, and develop scopes of work with cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience or an equivalent combo of education and field experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and communicate solutions clearly.
• Ability to perform on-site inspections physically.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, email, and internet research.
• Knowledge of Building Sciences is preferred.
• Architectural or engineering registration, contractor licenses, and/or inspection certifications are preferred.
• Strong project management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Building Inspection and Property Condition Assessment.
• Attend site investigations to inspect structures and conditions.
• Rigorously document with photographs, notes, diagrams and checklists.
• Prepare inspection summary narratives.
• Document analysis of construction and legal documents.
• Conduct research on building codes and standards of care.
• Utilize PFCS systems to organize analyses clearly and verifiably.
• Prepare deliverables including cost estimates and reports for clients.
• Present site observations, analyses, and cost estimates to Technical Experts.
• Collaborate with Project Coordinators to deliver PFCS-compliant reports.
• Attend client meetings and mediations as required.
• Billing: Track time billed and maintain billable hour targets.
