Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Construction Surveyor to support field layout, GPS surveying, and as-built verification on commercial construction and site development projects. You will work with the Lead Surveyor to ensure accurate layout for earthwork and building construction, and travel to project sites as required.

This role requires strong field surveying experience, construction staking, and the ability to interpret drawings, with willingness to travel and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in field surveying and layout for sitework and vertical construction.
• Strong construction staking, including grading and foundations.
• Proficiency with GPS rover equipment for surveying layouts.
• As-built surveys to verify conformance with plans.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveying and layout for sitework and vertical construction.
• Complete staking for grading, foundations, utilities, and vertical layout.
• Conduct GPS-based field layout using rover equipment.
• Collect as-built shots and prepare as-built surveys.
• Interpret drawings and site plans to guide layout.
• Support topographic and site development surveying.
• Collaborate with Lead Surveyor, PMs, and field crews.
• Assist in layout for grading and earthwork with proper elevations.
• Operate and maintain GPS rover equipment and tools.
• Travel to active construction sites and adapt methods as needed.
• Work safely outdoors following site protocols.
• Document survey data for project records and QA.
