Job summary

Fessler & Bowman Inc. seeks a Surveyor to assist field teams by staking out sites and developing layouts, working with foremen to uphold the company’s reputation for excellence. The role emphasizes precise layout, crew coordination, and safety across projects.

Key duties include reading blueprints, setting out sidewalks, slabs and walls, and transferring reference points to sites. Travel may be required with per diem provided when applicable.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and layout jobs, mostly sidewalks, slabs, and walls.
• Ability to work independently and safely with foreman or project manager to solve field problems.
• Experience leading and managing a crew to produce quality results.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Foreman with plan layout and site stakeout as needed.
• Transferring reference points and alignment from design drawings to the site to enable construction.
• Site layout for storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, parking lots and curbs building pads.
• Setting up GPS units using control points and blueprints.
• Other relevant tasks as assigned.
