Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Surveyor to perform field surveys and mapping for construction measurements and layout across projects. You will set up Trimble GPS equipment, take survey notes, read plans, and advise the team on layout during all phases of the project.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related construction experience.
• CTS level 1 or equivalent preferred.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to operate Base Station, SCS 900, GCS 900, and laser level.
• Detail oriented and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Trimble GPS equipment, including base station, SCS 900 software, GCS 900, and laser level.
• Care for, clean, and use surveying tools and equipment.
• Perform basic surveying computations and plan reading.
• Perform survey note taking.
• Survey existing conditions of proposed work sites.
• Guide new construction work through layout.
• Verify locations of structures.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
