Job summary

Southern Ute Indian Tribe seeks a Construction Supervisor to oversee Crew Leaders and field personnel across construction, repair, and site improvement projects. You will manage staffing, safety, training, performance evaluations, and daily dispatch, ensuring quality and adherence to tribal standards.

The role requires extensive construction experience, strong blueprint reading, heavy equipment knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Must have 5 years of experience in the construction field, with home and residential construction knowledge.
• Must have computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and draw construction and building plans.
• Must have knowledge of various roof types (sheathing, trusses, gutters, panels).
• Must have extensive knowledge of equipment, power and hand tools used in home construction and repair.
• Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and be insurable.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision of crews and maintain quality and productivity.
• Manage personnel functions: recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Schedule and dispatch crews daily based on service demand.
• Coordinate with clients on scheduling, material purchases, and progress inspections.
• Ensure work orders are completed and paperwork for billing is submitted.
• Maintain inventory of tools and materials and ensure safe usage.
• Provide project updates to Division Head and report crew issues.
• Participate in meetings and provide coordination for events and ceremonies.
• Maintain positive work environment and ensure training on safety rules.
• Oversee timekeeping, reporting, and project documentation for crews.
