Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site activities at Midtown Commons, a 200-unit multifamily development in Milwaukee, WI. The project comprises two 100-unit phases, with completion anticipated in mid-2028.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably with multifamily or large-scale residential projects.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong organizational, time management, attention-to-detail, and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site construction operations through project completion, ensuring safety, schedule, quality and company standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and sequencing to maintain momentum and meet milestones.
• Partner with the Project Manager and General Field Superintendent to manage schedules and anticipate needs.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and ownership representatives.
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Maintain daily logs, project documentation, delivery records, timecards, as-built drawings, and project photos; oversee punch-list and turnover.

Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities at Midtown Commons, a 200-unit multifamily development in Milwaukee, WI, consisting of two 100-unit phases, with project completion anticipated in mid-2028. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who can coordinate subcontractors, manage day-to-day field operations, and keep the project on schedule while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily on-site construction operations through project completion, ensuring all work meets established safety, schedule, quality, and company standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and construction sequencing to maintain project momentum and meet key milestones across both phases.
• Partner with the Project Manager and General Field Superintendent to manage project schedules, anticipate material and equipment needs, resolve field challenges, and communicate progress.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and ownership representatives, building strong working relationships and addressing issues as they arise.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and installation details to ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site by enforcing OSHA and company safety standards, conducting weekly Toolbox Talks and safety meetings, and monitoring subcontractor performance.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, project documentation, delivery records, timecards, as-built drawings, and project photos while overseeing punch-list completion and final project turnover.

What You'll Bring

• Three or more years of experience in construction supervision or a similar field leadership role, preferably with multifamily or large-scale residential construction projects.
• A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on construction experience.
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, with a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Strong organizational, time management, attention-to-detail, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep a project moving forward.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead subcontractors, collaborate with project managers, and coordinate effectively with inspectors and other project partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, and the ability to maintain accurate project documentation and manage schedules.
• A valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements, along with the ability to travel overnight or for extended periods as needed.
