Job summary

Gorman & Company is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site activities for Maritime Lofts, a 59-unit multifamily project in Manitowoc, WI. You will own the build from early construction through close-out, coordinating with PMs, field leadership, and subcontractors to deliver a safe, high-quality community on schedule.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in construction supervision, a relevant degree or equivalent hands-on experience, and strong reading of drawings with solid scheduling

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in multifamily or commercial projects.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to manage priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and MS Office; willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site construction operations from start to finish, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and sequencing to keep the project on track.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with PM and superintendents; anticipate needs and resolve challenges.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and owners.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure work meets project requirements and quality.
• Maintain a safe, organized site; conduct toolbox talks and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Maintain logs, delivery records, timecards, as-built drawings, photos; manage punch list and turnover.

Join our team as a Construction Superintendent at Maritime Lofts!

Gorman & Company is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities at Maritime Lofts, a 59-unit multifamily community in Manitowoc, WI, with construction beginning now and completion anticipated in 2028. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a project from the early stages of construction through final close-out, working closely with project management, subcontractors, and field leadership to deliver a safe, high-quality community on schedule.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily on-site construction operations from project start through completion, ensuring work meets established safety, schedule, quality, and company standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and construction sequencing to keep the project moving efficiently and on schedule.
• Partner with the Project Manager and General Field Superintendent to develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, anticipate material and equipment needs, and resolve field challenges.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and ownership representatives, maintaining clear communication and strong working relationships.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and installation details to ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site by enforcing OSHA and company safety standards, conducting weekly Toolbox Talks and safety meetings, and monitoring subcontractor performance.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, project documentation, delivery records, timecards, as-built drawings, and project photos while overseeing punch-list completion and final project turnover.

What You'll Bring

• One to three years of experience in construction supervision or a similar field leadership role, preferably in multifamily or commercial construction.
• A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on construction experience.
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, with a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Strong organizational, time management, attention-to-detail, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with subcontractors, project managers, inspectors, and other project partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, and the ability to maintain accurate project documentation and track schedules.
• A valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements, along with the ability to travel overnight or for extended periods as needed.
