Job summary

• You read the drawings and are not just a meeting attendee

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day field operations from start-up through punch and turnover
• Direct subcontractors, labor, and material flow on a live Manhattan/borough site
• Protect schedule with look-aheads, daily reports, and solve issues the same day they appear
• Hold quality and safety to NYC standards — drawings, specs, inspections, no surprises at closeout
• Coordinate with the project manager, building management, inspectors, and the owner

A New York general contractor is hiring a mid-level Superintendent to run work in the five boroughs. This is a GC field seat. You own the site, the trades, the schedule in the dirt, and the daily standard.

THE WORK

Commercial GC projects in NYC. Occupied buildings, tight logistics, DOB, and a job that does not run itself.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• - Run day-to-day field operations from start-up through punch and turnover
• - Direct subcontractors, labor, and material flow on a live Manhattan/borough site
• - Protect schedule with look-aheads, daily reports, and problems fixed the same day they show up
• - Hold quality and safety to NYC standards — drawings, specs, inspections, no surprises at closeout
• - Coordinate with the project manager, building management, inspectors, and the owner

WHO THIS IS FOR

• - Mid-level Superintendent, about 5–9 years in the field with a GC (assistant super time counts if you have been running the deck)
• - NYC experience. You already know DOB, site logistics, after-hours, and occupied buildings
• - Licensed is the preference: NYC DOB Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator, plus SST and OSHA 30
• - You read the drawings. You are not the guy who only walks meetings

WHO THIS IS NOT

• - First-time assistant with no time running a site
• - CM / owner’s-rep only, no GC field time
• - Out-of-town super with no New York job history and no plan to be on site here

PAY

Base $150,000–$195,000, depending on NYC GC time and licenses. Licensed SSM / SSC candidates sit toward the top of the range.
