The role oversees day-to-day field operations, coordinates subcontractors, maintains schedules, and enforces safety and quality standards to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial construction experience, particularly in multifamily, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Title: Construction Superintendent – MultifamilyLocation: Cincinnati, OHEmployment Type: Direct Hire / Full-TimeOur client, a growing commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with multifamily construction experience to oversee field operations on multifamily projects throughout the Cincinnati area.The Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day onsite construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Position Responsibilities• Provide overall onsite leadership and supervision for multifamily construction projects.• Manage daily construction activities from site preparation through project completion and turnover.• Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-term and three-week look-ahead schedules.• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel.• Conduct daily site walks and monitor progress, workmanship, and productivity.• Ensure construction is being completed according to plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.• Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to resolve project issues.• Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings to identify potential conflicts or constructability issues.• Manage the sequencing of trades to maintain project schedule and productivity.• Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and project meetings.• Track project progress and communicate schedule updates and potential delays to the project team.• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.• Enforce company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.• Perform quality-control inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.• Assist with inspections, punch lists, project closeout, and owner turnover.• Help identify potential change orders and communicate impacts to the Project Manager.• Maintain accurate daily reports, documentation, and project records.• Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, owners, and other project stakeholders.Qualifications• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, with a strong preference for multifamily construction experience.• Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.• Proven experience managing multifamily projects from start to finish.• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and field operations.• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.• Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors and competing priorities.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management/scheduling software.• Ability to travel locally throughout the Cincinnati market as required.• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.Compensation & Benefits• Competitive salary based on experience• Performance-based bonus opportunities• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with company match• Paid time off and holidays• Company vehicle or vehicle allowance• Professional development opportunities• Career advancement opportunities
