Job summary

Embark Recruiting Solutions is recruiting a Construction Project Manager for multifamily projects in Columbus, OH. The role leads projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

The candidate should have extensive multifamily construction experience, strong organization, and excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience.
  • Multifamily construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project schedules, budgets, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

  • Manage multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead project kickoff, progress, and coordination meetings.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements.
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, billing, and overall financial performance.
  • Prepare and maintain project forecasts and monthly cost reports.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to minimize schedule and financial impacts.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to company leadership and clients.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and pay applications.
  • Manage owner change orders and assist with pricing and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and company policies.
  • Assist with project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final turnover.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Support preconstruction activities, estimating, budgeting, and value-engineering efforts as needed.

Title: Construction Project Manager – Multifamily

Location: Columbus, OH

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with multifamily construction experience to join their team in Columbus, Ohio.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and overall project performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multifamily construction, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to successfully manage projects on time and within budget.
