Probst Electric, Inc. in Caldwell, Idaho, is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This role is part of a growing, high-performing team at a premier utility construction company, with opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or related field.
• JD Edwards experience preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger and cost accounting functions in support of construction operations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts; collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Support preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax forms.
• Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and cross-departmental workflow.
