Job summary

Probst Electric Inc., a Caldwell-based subsidiary of Quanta Services, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience with JD Edwards is preferable, but not required.
• Prior construction industry accounting experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience supporting month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyze and manage financial data.
• Ability to pass required drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger and cost accounting functions in support of construction operations
• Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts—collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies
• Support preparation and filing of required federal, state, and local tax forms
• Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentationMaintain compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and cross-departmental workflow
