Job summary

Stansell Construction in the Odessa/Tampa region seeks a Staff Accountant to support job cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting for our construction projects. The role partners with project managers and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking and timely close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in construction or GC environments.
• Understanding of job cost accounting, AIA billing, retainage, lien waivers.
• Proficiency with construction software Sage Intacct and Procore.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to collaborate with project management and operations teams.
• Multitask in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Job Cost Accounting: Review, code, and track invoices to jobs and cost codes.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, lien waivers, and billings.
• General Ledger & Financial Reporting: Post journals, assist month-end close, assist audits.
• Other Duties: Support project managers with financial data and ad hoc analyses.
