Construction Specialist / Project Manager

Location: Cartersville, GA

Job type: Long-Term Contract

Our client, a major Telecommunications provider, is hiring a Construction Specialist for a full-time long-term contract opportunity in their Cartersville, GA office.

This is a 100% Remote opportunity - the ideal candidate MUST live in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, or Mississippi.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as placing hard-line cables, framing and strand poles, transferring facilities between poles, placing cable in joint trenches, and the safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers.
2. Investigate and monitor accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
3. Instruct work site safety standards; conduct site visits to ensure compliance and participate in safety meetings.
4. Support specialists and leadership with project coordination.
5. Generate logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
6. Review, resolve, and follow up on customer requests and complaints.
7. Monitor construction crew performance to establish goals and objectives.
8. Maintain regular, punctual attendance; work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
9. Coordinate and supervise daily activities of support, technical, or production staff.
10. Set team priorities, assign tasks, and review work periodically.
11. Ensure all work complies with standards and regulations.
12. Update job documentation and maps for path verification.
13. Act as the primary contractor interface in the field and as a liaison with regional network technicians.
14. Ensure new or upgraded power supplies are operational before cut dates.
15. Maintain overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product, from construction to handoff to operations.

This role is expected to be in the field 90% of the time.

Requirements:

1. Proficient in tracking milestones, managing timelines, and monitoring budgets.
2. Strong experience with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
3. Experience working with cross-functional teams.
4. Knowledge or experience in finance.
5. Understanding of general permitting processes.
