Job summary

Pogue Construction is seeking a Site Safety Professional to oversee safety on construction projects, lead safety programs, enforce regulations, and serve as the onsite resource for safety questions, working with project staff and subcontractors.

Two-year Safety/Health degree or equivalent required; strong MS Office skills and proven leadership are essential. This full-time, on-site role supports projects across Texas and the Houston area, focusing on zero-incident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Experience identifying exposures and driving corrective action.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Observe and stop work for immediate danger.
• Collaborate with Safety Director on corrective actions.
• Provide leadership on assigned projects and build relationships.
• Serve as site Safety Professional for all assigned construction projects.
• Act as on-site resource for safety questions and improvements.
• Partner with Subcontractor Safety Reps to ensure compliance.
• Conduct safety audits and require corrective action by subcontractors.
• Investigate and resolve issues on behalf of Pogue Construction.
• Communicate safety issues with project staff and subcontractors.
• Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and training programs.
• Enforce safe work practices per regulations and contractual requirements.
• Educate and advise project staff on safety guidelines.
• Conduct training and safety meetings; manage regulatory exposures to zero citations.
• Other duties as assigned.
