Job summary

Pogue Construction is seeking a Site Safety Professional to oversee safety, health, and environmental policies across construction projects in Texas. You will stop work for imminent danger, lead safety trainings, and coordinate audits with subcontractors.

The role requires at least two years of safety experience in commercial building construction and a two-year Safety & Health degree (or equivalent). Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Two years of safety experience in commercial building construction.
• Two-year degree in Safety and Health preferred; experience accepted in lieu.
• Proficient with MS Office and safety reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and decide on project safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Observe and stop work for immediate danger to life and health.
• Collaborate with Safety Director on corrective actions.
• Provide leadership on assigned projects and build staff relationships.
• Serve as site Safety Professional for construction projects.
• Act as onsite resource for safety questions and improvements.
• Coordinate with Subcontractor Safety Reps to ensure compliance.
• Conduct safety audits and require corrective action by subs.
• Investigate issues on behalf of Pogue Construction.
• Communicate with staff and subs to resolve safety concerns.
• Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and trainings.
• Enforce safe practices per regulations and contractual requirements.
• Educate staff on safety guidelines and policies.
• Conduct scheduled and impromptu trainings.
• Manage regulatory exposures to zero citations.
• Other duties as assigned.
