Job summary

H. J. Russell & Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to direct foremen, engineers, and coordinators on construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project budgets.

You will collaborate with the General Superintendent or Project Manager to deliver projects on time and within scope. You’ll coordinate drawings, materials, and subcontractors, monitor schedules, and enforce safety policies on site, with emphasis on procurement, cost control, and field operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or Business Management.
• 3–4 years of related experience; degree may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Direct foreman, field engineers, and project coordinators as required.
• Serve as liaison with Owner and Architect representatives for changes and drawings.
• Coordinate working drawings and shop drawings with project management staff.
• Assist with field purchasing for the project and expedite material deliveries.
• Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and updating of the project schedule.
• Coordinate in-place quantities and labor cost coding.
• Assist in project close-out activities and punch lists.
• Perform work safely and encourage others to follow safety rules.
