Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Student Intern for our Transportation Construction Services Department in Chicago, IL. This onsite role provides hands-on exposure alongside senior engineers and inspectors on a broad range of projects.

You will learn quality metrics, testing requirements, and construction inspection duties, and you will make field calculations and daily reports while coordinating with project staff. 40+ hour weeks are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program with the ability to obtain Engineering-In-Training status.
• Construction Management emphasis is preferred.
• Must be at least a college sophomore.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Driving record in good standing.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Displays eagerness to learn new tasks and ask questions as needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated organization and time management abilities.
• Extended hours may be required, anticipated 40+ hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight of various infrastructure projects in the construction phase.
• Learn quality metrics, testing requirements, and construction inspection duties.
• Make field work calculations and daily reports in a format that can easily be checked by others.
• Coordinate work activities with other staff members assigned to a project.
