Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area seeks a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction on K-12 projects, including ground-up and renovations, and mentor the estimating team.

You will work with owners, architects, and project teams, manage subcontractor pricing, and guide the bid process from concept through award. This role requires 5+ years of GC estimating experience and a strong grasp of commercial construction methods and pricing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
• Experience with ground-up and renovation work ranging from $6M-$50M+.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates for K-12 projects from concept through award.
• Prepare conceptual, budget, GMP, and hard-bid estimates.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Manage subcontractor pricing, scope reviews, and value engineering.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, and project teams.
• Support and mentor junior estimators.
• Ensure smooth turnover to Operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to lead complex educational projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continued growth of a well-established construction organization.

With a strong backlog and robust pipeline of upcoming work, particularly in the K-12 education sector, the company is seeking a professional who can lead estimates, provide strategic preconstruction guidance, and help secure high-profile school projects throughout the DFW market.
