Job summary

Harder Mechanical is seeking a Safety Trainer to support corporate safety initiatives at our Phoenix, AZ office. You will lead new hire and site safety training, manage documentation, and coordinate with project teams to ensure safe planning and execution on fast-paced projects.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, OSHA knowledge, and a proactive safety mindset. The role may involve early starts, weekend coverage, and ongoing safety development opportunities with Harder University.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of safety experience
• OSHA 30, 10, 510 certifications
• First Aid/CPR/AED current
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Comfortable in active construction environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee new hire safety training program
• Provide incident prevention support including site inspections and incident reporting
• Serve as on-site Competent Person with regular inspections
• Oversee additional safety professionals on site
• Advise site superintendents on safety hazards and controls
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and document findings
• Lead toolbox talks and site-specific training courses
• Collaborate with technical specialists to update processes
• Provide training to employees and managers on hazard recognition
• Develop activity hazard analyses for new or high-risk processes
• Conduct PPE assessments as needed
• Recommend corrective measures for safety deficiencies and hazards
