Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for its Advanced Facilities Group to coordinate field safety programs across multiple projects. The role involves conducting site inspections, safety audits, and new-hire orientations to ensure regulatory compliance and worker safety.

You will monitor subcontractor safety efforts, participate in safety meetings, assist in incident investigations, and help manage the safety incentive program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety/health-related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years construction or related safety experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations.
• Ability to conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites for compliance.
• Performs safety audits and documents abatement actions.
• Conducts new hire safety orientation and oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors and supports subcontractor safety programs and site safety initiatives.
• Attends project meetings to address safety-related matters.
• Assists in accident investigations and recommends corrective actions.
• Coordinates with clinics for employee treatment and return-to-work processes.
• Monitors safety incentive programs.
