Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a leading heavy civil construction firm, is seeking a Safety Manager for a Mesquite, Texas project. The role supports the Safety Director by implementing site safety reviews and ensuring a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment through safety systems and training for office and field personnel.

Key duties include developing JHA and safety execution plans, conducting incident investigations, coordinating safety meetings, and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on heavy civil projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor a team of 1-2 safety professionals.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Examine project settings and ensure safety controls for work, equipment, and processes.
• Develop and review project JHA and safety execution plans for subcontractor selection and compliance.
• Create, develop, and present safety-training programs and maintain records.
• Lead incident investigations and generate safety reports within required timelines.
• Coordinate and lead project site safety meetings and daily site assessments.
• Interact with field personnel, supervision, and management to disseminate safety information.
