Job summary

Hinterland-Group is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist to drive safety excellence across our construction projects in New York. You will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that promote a secure work environment and regulatory compliance.

Lead risk management, conduct trainings, and investigate incidents to protect workers and ensure smooth project execution from start to finish. This role is in-person, requiring field presence and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510, OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 Trainer certifications are required.
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification.
• Competent Person Training, Excavation & Trenching, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection.
• Experience with safety audits, inspections, and permit management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety protocols aligned with OSHA and NEC standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards in construction activities.
• Lead safety training sessions for construction teams and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Monitor construction activities for adherence to safety policies using CM software and onsite supervision.
• Investigate incidents or near-misses, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.
• Manage compliance documentation, permits, and reports to ensure regulatory adherence.
