Job summary

Schimenti Construction Company seeks an experienced Safety Engineer to support health and safety compliance on construction projects. The role requires frequent weekly travel to project sites across New York and the Northeast.

Responsibilities include planning and implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, documenting incidents, and coordinating training. A Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field and OSHA 30 are preferred along with 5+ years in construction safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety-related field is preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing Schimenti’s safety program.
• Conduct site surveillance inspections and tests for safety compliance.
• Document accidents, safety violations and permits as required.
• Coordinate safety training with team members and project managers.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Travel frequently to project sites throughout NY and the Northeast.
