Job summary

System One is seeking a Safety Professional to oversee Construction Project Safety, Health (S&H), and Risk Management on site in South Hill, VA. You will develop site-specific safety plans and collaborate with Project Management to lead the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process across multiple projects.

The role requires a 2+ year background with a Bachelor's in EHS or similar, strong knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations, safety management systems, and certifications (OSHA 500/502).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or similar required.
• Experience with S&H training and regulatory compliance (1910, 1926, EM-385 1-1).
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems including ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000.
• OSHA 500/502 certifications desired; willingness to pursue ASP, CSP, or CHST.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Construction Project Safety, Health (S&H), and Risk Management across multiple safety programs.
• Develop and implement site-specific project safety plans and collaborate with Project Management on ORM.
• Coordinate with GC and site stakeholders on site conditions and non-compliance issues.
• Participate in meetings to advise on mitigation plans and safety training programs.
• Assist with Site Specific Accident Prevention Programs (APP) and safety training plans.
• Manage site safety budgets, permits, and compliance with project plans and specs.
• Lead the ORM team in reviewing safety plans per project/client specs and regulations.
• Conduct or assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and related regulations.
• Perform safety inspections, hazard analyses, emergency response planning, and first aid procedures.
