Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Safety professional to support field operations across construction projects in the Columbus area. The role focuses on implementing safety policies, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement of safety performance.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor degree in Safety and Health (or equivalent) with relevant construction safety experience; multiple safety certifications are preferred. May require 50+ hours/week at times.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and safety policies.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high production environment (50+ hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing safety strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training and education on safety requirements.
• Plan for hazards and develop emergency response plans for projects.
• Lead safety meetings and trainings to communicate company policies.
• Conduct safety audits and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist investigations of injuries and incidents.
• Prepare regular safety correspondence and updates on regulatory changes.
• Identify staff needing safety support and coordinate training.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and third parties.
• Serve as point of contact for OSHA/authorities when needed.
