Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Safety Intern to assist with safety and loss control activities on construction projects and office locations. You will help implement Building L.I.F.E.

and project safety programs under supervisor direction. Responsibilities include reporting hazards, coordinating safety meetings, reviewing subcontractor safety programs, promoting safe practices, assisting with drug screening, preconstruction meetings, and maintaining safety records.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing safety programs such as Building L.I.F.E. on sites.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices.
• Coordinate safety duties for committees and toolbox talks.
• Assist with safety training at meetings and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies.
• Promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with drug screening administration.
• Support preconstruction meetings and documentation.
• Maintain safety records and assist with incident investigations.
• Support worker orientation program and related activities.
