Job summary

Jay Dee Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer to support day-to-day project safety operations under the Project Manager and General Superintendent. You will perform safety walks, lead PPE training, and coordinate safety orientations across multi-shift projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Occupational Health and Safety, 0–5 years of related experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. CSP/CHST are preferred. On-site position with occasional Saturdays support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• 0–5 years of related experience; heavy civil construction/underground tunneling preferred.
• CSP and/or CHST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety walks and inspect equipment for unsafe work conditions.
• Provide safety training on PPE and other safety equipment.
• Coordinate jobsite safety orientations and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety logs and records, including gas testing and air velocity.
• Investigate accidents/incidents to identify root causes and prevention.
