Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Minimum of 3 years experience in risk management or insurance industry
• Ability to effectively identify, manage and mitigate risk using risk management principles
• Proficient math and financial analysis skills
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team based environment
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, oral and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
• Active listening and effective communication including openness to diverse input
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Prior experience in contract reviews and negotiations
• Construction or insurance industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze and manage risks faced by Mortenson's operations; determine best risk transfer approaches
• Support estimating and project teams with insurance and surety related needs
• Review and negotiate owner, designer, subcontract and material supplier agreements; support negotiations
• Review bids to identify risk provisions in contracts and respond accordingly
• Provide pricing and placement for liability insurance, builder's risk, surety bonds and subcontractor default insurance
• Offer ongoing risk management support to operating groups
• Collaborate with legal and operational leaders to mitigate risks
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
