Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking a proactive Trade & Craft Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for high-volume field roles across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fabrication, construction, service, and industrial trades. You’ll partner with leaders across operating companies to source, hire, and deliver great candidate experiences, supporting growth across the central United States.

The role is hybrid in Draper, UT, with remote flexibility for strong candidates in Central Division.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years recruiting or related experience; trade/industrial recruiting is a plus.
• Comfortable sourcing and reaching out to candidates.
• Experience using an ATS (Greenhouse and Workday preferred).
• Strong communication and partnership skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel locally or regionally for hiring events and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Search for candidates via job boards, social media, referrals, and outreach.
• Review applications and reach out to qualified candidates.
• Build simple talent lists for frequently hired roles.

In this role, you will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for high-volume and hard-to-fill field positions including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fabrication, construction, service, and industrial trades. You will partner directly with leaders across multiple operating companies to identify talent needs, develop sourcing strategies, and deliver exceptional candidate experiences that help our businesses grow. Location: Hybrid (preferred) in Draper, UT, with flexibility for Remote for strong candidates in Central Division areas.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Sourcing

• Post job openings and keep them updated across job boards and platforms
• Search for candidates using job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach
• Review applications and reach out to qualified candidates
• Build simple talent lists for roles we hire frequently
• Adjust outreach methods based on what works best in each local area

Hiring Partnership & Employer Brand Activation

• Communicate regularly with hiring managers about open roles and candidate progress
• Help clarify job requirements and understand what type of candidate is needed
• Assist in writing or updating job postings so they’re clear and appealing
• Represent Kelso at career fairs, job events, and community outreach activities
• Promote Kelso’s brand and values when speaking with candidates and community partners

Process, Metrics & Candidate Experience

• Provide a friendly, organized experience for every candidate
• Schedule interviews, send reminders, and keep candidates informed
• Keep all information accurate and up to date in Greenhouse (our ATS)
• Track basic recruiting data like number of applicants and effective sourcing channels
• Suggest small improvements to help make the hiring process smoother and faster

Hiring Execution & Support

• Assist with background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment steps
• Help prepare and send job offers
• Manage multiple open roles while staying organized and timely
• Step in to support professional or office roles when needed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
