Job summary

TxDOT Odessa District is seeking a Construction Recordkeeper to maintain project records, review contract changes, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws. The role supports engineers, inspectors, and contractors from the Odessa Area Office.

The position offers training, growth, and a clear path within the construction records team. The role requires a high school diploma, with varying experience levels for I, II, or III, and a valid driver’s license to operate state vehicles.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
• Experience for Construction Recordkeeper I: No experience required; substitutions allowed.
• Experience for Construction Recordkeeper II: 1 year record-keeping or related experience.
• Experience for Construction Recordkeeper III: 4 years record-keeping or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains construction project records and related paperwork; verifies payments due to contractors.
• Coordinates with inspectors and contractor staff to reflect changes and agreements.
• Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work logs.
• Attends pre-construction meetings to instruct contractor's bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures.
• Maintains filing structure for each construction project within assigned area.
