Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons is seeking a Quality Control Intern to gain hands-on experience across field operations and materials testing. You will work with project teams on planning, documentation, and on-site activities, while supporting lab testing and equipment maintenance.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration with engineers and field staff, and contributing to safe, compliant project execution during a May–August internship.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant degree program or technical school (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or related field)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced construction environment
• Eagerness to learn and proactive attitude

Responsibilities

• Assist field & project teams with planning, execution, and management of construction projects
• Spend time on construction sites to observe and participate in activities
• Help with project documentation, reports, plans, budgets, and schedules
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to meet goals
• Support lab tests on construction materials (concrete and soil) and interpret results
• Maintain lab equipment and supplies per best practices
