Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Intern for a hands-on internship experience in Missouri. The program blends field construction operations with materials testing and quality control, offering practical exposure to project management, engineering, and lab operations.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude
  • Basic understanding of construction principles, lab testing processes, or quality control practices is a plus but not mandatory

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Support field and project planning, execution, and management of construction projects
  • Spend time on construction sites to observe activities and gain practical knowledge
  • Assist in project documentation including reports, plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to meet goals
  • Troubleshoot and help find solutions to construction-related challenges
  • Assist with lab tests on construction materials and interpret results
  • Support maintenance of lab equipment and supplies
  • Identify and report quality control issues and communicate with stakeholders
  • Acquire a deeper understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Summary We are seeking a Quality Control Intern to join our team for a hands‑on internship experience. This program is designed to provide students with practical exposure to both field construction operations and materials testing/quality control, helping them build a strong foundation for a future career in the construction industry. Interns will gain invaluable real-world experience, work on challenging projects, and collaborate with seasoned professionals across project management, engineering, and lab operations.

Key Responsibilities
Field & Project Support
  • Collaborate with project teams to assist in the planning, execution, and management of construction projects
  • Spend time on construction sites to observe and participate in construction activities, gaining practical knowledge
  • Assist in project documentation, including reports, plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure project goals are met
  • Participate in troubleshooting and finding solutions to construction‑related challenges
Quality Control & Lab Support
  • Assist with a variety of lab tests on construction materials, including concrete and soil
  • Help analyze and interpret test results to support accurate, compliant testing
  • Support maintenance of lab equipment and supplies in accordance with best practices and standards
  • Help identify and report quality control issues or concerns
  • Communicate lab and field‑related information to project stakeholders as needed
General
  • Acquire a deeper understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
