Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Construction Surveillance Engineering Technician to support NAVFAC Southeast at Cape Canaveral, FL. The role involves coordinating the construction quality program, reviewing QC plans, and witnessing testing of critical systems to ensure compliance with specifications.

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years as a Quality Control Manager on NAVFAC/USACE projects or 10 years as a foreman in related trades, and must complete USACE CQM Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a Quality Control Manager on NAVFAC/USACE projects or 10 years as a foreman in concrete, mechanical, electrical, masonry, or carpentry trades on commercial/industrial/military projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the construction quality management program for assigned projects.
• Review and recommend approval of contractor quality control plans with CM.
• Attend QC, preparatory, and initial meetings and monitor three-phase checklists.
• Provide remarks on Government QA reports for critical features of work.
• Take and file progress photos and validate materials prior to payments.
• Coordinate testing/commissioning of critical systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, roofing, etc.).
• Assure workmanship to project specs and industry standards; review test reports.
• Keep Government sponsor informed while performing duties independently.
