Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH Company, is offering a Construction / QC Internship for spring-summer 2027 in Austin, TX. You will work with lab technicians and field staff to learn asphalt production, quality control, and materials testing while developing practical engineering skills.

You will gain exposure to lab testing, data collection, and safety procedures, participating in real projects and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Geology, Materials Science, or related field.
• Available to work full-time during the summer semester (May–August 2026).
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and Fit for Work screening.

Responsibilities

• Learn asphalt materials production and hot-mix plant operations through hands-on exposure.
• Support quality monitoring during production, including sampling, inspection, and process tracking.
• Apply standard test methods (aggregate gradation, asphalt content, compaction, volumetrics).
• Perform hands-on testing in the HMA QC lab and document material properties.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis to support mix design verification.
