Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH Company, invites students to join its Spring 2027 Construction Internship in Waco, TX. This hands‑on program covers asphalt operations, heavy civil construction, plant maintenance, and quality control, with mentorship from industry professionals.

Interns will develop project management skills, gain operation experience, and learn to apply college knowledge in a professional setting while adhering to safety policies and OSHA/MSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work in varied environments and travel if required.

Responsibilities

• Construction operations: hands-on learning with asphalt paving crews and heavy civil crews.
• Hotmix plant operations: hands-on learning with plant operations.
• Quality control and QA: hands-on experience in QC lab setting.
• Follow safety procedures per OSHA / MSHA regulations.
• Participate in daily safety discussions and toolbox talks.
• Estimating, pricing, and bidding work.
• Contract administration: subcontract and material contract management.
• Track quantities, costs, and progress curves.
• Equipment and material management.
• Scheduling and work plan development - coordination between plant and construction activities.
• Material takeoffs and inspections.
