Texas Materials Internship Program for Construction/QC offers hands-on experience in materials testing, asphalt quality control, and field-based construction research. Interns work with laboratory technicians, field inspectors, and operations personnel to understand quality standards and data-driven improvements in asphalt production and paving.

Participants will learn hot-mix production, quality monitoring, and standard test methods, while developing professional skills in a collaborative team

Qualificações

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Geology, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Available to work full-time during May–August 2026.
• Willingness to travel/relocate for the term.

Responsabilidades

• Learn asphalt materials production through hands-on exposure to hot-mix plant operations.
• Support quality monitoring during production: sampling, inspection, and process tracking.
• Learn and apply standard test methods (aggregate gradation, asphalt content, compaction testing, volumetrics).
• Perform hands-on testing in the hot-mix asphalt QC laboratory: sampling, specimen prep, material testing.
• Assist with data collection, documentation, and analysis for mix design verification and production monitoring.
• Support research initiatives on materials performance, mix optimization, and process improvement by analyzing data and preparing reports.
• Observe density testing, temperature monitoring, and field quality assurance procedures.
• Gain exposure to construction site operations and correlate laboratory results with field performance.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA safety requirements.
