Job summary

Baker Construction is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support field activities and assist the Project Manager on multiple projects. You will manage project administration, cost, schedule, and procurement tasks, ensuring quality and compliance.

The role involves developing estimates, managing buy process, and coordinating with subcontractors while facilitating LEAN/SQP improvements. This is a hands-on position on-site with opportunities for growth at a leading specialty contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years' of experience or 6 years construction related experience.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Ability to write reports and communicate with all levels of workers on the project.
• Ability to understand cost accounting and procurement processes.
• Experience with project scheduling and LEAN/SQP practices.

Responsibilities

• Generate and approve monthly billing and earned values.
• Develop and manage the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects.
• Analyze targets, job costs, and other reports.
• Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Manager on resources and changes.
• Prepare field purchase orders and obtain approval of Major Purchase Orders.
• Lead LEAN/SQP committee and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with subcontracts and approvals on changes.
• Assist with procurement planning, RFI, constructability and records.
• Maintain as-built records and project turnover processes.
