Job summary

JFS and Associates is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent in Wildwood, FL to join a growing construction-focused team. This direct-hire, in-office role requires strong negotiation skills and a track record of building purchasing processes from the ground up.

You will manage PO lifecycles, source materials and subcontractor services, coordinate with project managers and engineers, and drive cost savings and supplier optimization while ensuring policy compliance and project timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience within the construction industry.
• Experience purchasing construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Experience helping build or support a newly established purchasing department, including SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and services to support office operations and construction projects while balancing cost, quality, availability, reliability, and vendor support.
• Manage the full purchase order lifecycle for both office and field operations.
• Procure construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Engineers to coordinate material deliveries and maintain project timelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and dependable service.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier optimization.
• Assist in establishing and documenting purchasing processes and SOPs as the purchasing function grows.
