Job summary

Insight Global partners with an innovative design-build construction company to recruit a Construction Purchasing Agent for a full-time onsite role. The position supports procurement, subcontracting, and vendor management on large-scale projects.

You will manage procurement cycles, develop bid packages, evaluate bids, negotiate subcontractor agreements, and coordinate with project teams to align with schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in construction purchasing, procurement, subcontract administration, or related construction operations.
• Strong understanding of construction scopes, sequencing, subcontractor management, and project buyout processes.
• Experience negotiating and managing subcontract agreements.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience using construction management or procurement software such as Procore or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement and subcontracting process, including trade outreach, bidding, bid analysis, and subcontract execution.
• Develop and distribute bid packages, scopes of work, and RFPs to qualified trade partners.
• Evaluate bids for cost, completeness, and project requirements.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with project managers, design teams, finance, and legal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and budgets.
• Track subcontractor performance, pricing trends, and procurement metrics.
• Help improve procurement processes, workflows, and reporting tools.
• Support multiple active construction projects by ensuring timely procurement of materials and trade partners.

We are partnering with an innovative Design-Build construction company that serves as both the designer and general contractor on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and mission-critical military facilities. They are seeking a Construction Purchasing Agent to join their team full-time in an onsite role and support procurement, subcontracting, and vendor management efforts for large-scale construction projects.

• Certifications such as CPSM, PMP, CPCM, or CFCM.
• Experience building and managing subcontractor and vendor networks.
