Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist – Construction Property to join our Specialties Construction team in Minneapolis or Chicago. The role offers hybrid work with a flexible schedule to balance client needs and market presence.

You will handle Builders Risk and Fixed Property/Inland Marine accounts, partnering with brokers across the Midwest, and act as a subject matter expert while expanding relationships with distributors and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting/market facing areas, or related fields.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating annual rules.
• Develop and maintain referrals and relationships with brokers and distributors.
• May guide lower level associates and support sales initiatives.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities with target accounts.
• Negotiate terms and conditions and close deals.
• Cross-sell other lines of business to increase account density.
• Attend Sales Team meetings and participate in target account planning.
