Job description

We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Construction Project Supervisor to manage and optimize the daily operations of our field teams within our rapidly growing construction firm. This role will focus on leading and coordinating projects that involve new home residential construction, remodeling, and restoration work. This position is field-based, requiring a strong on-site presence to manage and monitor construction activities. Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their time in the field rather than in an office setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field construction work, having spent time actively working on job sites in a hands-on capacity before transitioning into supervisory roles. This person will be a hard-working professional, capable of managing teams, ensuring quality control, and meeting strict deadlines. We offer a competitive salary with bonus potential, along with a benefits package that includes healthcare reimbursement, retirement benefits, and paid time off/holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure strict adherence to all project schedules, budgets, and timelines, including those related to insurance claims and disaster recovery work.
  • Collaborate with internal and external contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate all phases of new home construction, remodeling, and restoration.
  • Maintain and track capital and operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, industry regulations, and insurance standards to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance in all projects.
  • Maintain detailed project reports for all processes, providing regular updates and support to project managers and the Director of Construction.
  • Supervise and oversee daily contractor activity on job sites, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Evaluate and adjust project schedules as needed, ensuring adequate manpower allocation, materials availability, and budget adherence.
  • Assess workforce requirements, coordinating with various teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review project plans and conduct risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential issues while recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage and enforce change orders, ensuring modifications align with project goals and budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety regulations and industry best practices, while staying informed on new safety policies and risk management strategies.
  • Implement project control tools, including cost-tracking and reporting systems, and provide training to team members on best practices.
Required Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of direct, hands-on experience in general construction, including significant time spent actively working in the field.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and building codes.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and project specifications, and develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures, job site hazard recognition, and restoration work protocols.
  • Proficiency in computer information systems, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and project management platforms such as Buildertrend.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate teams, manage workflows, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions.
  • Valid NC driver’s license is required due to the significant amount of travel between job sites.
  • Strong work ethic, adaptability, and a positive attitude, with a willingness to grow within a rapidly expanding company.
  • Preferred -Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, on-site position. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though some flexibility is required due to the nature of restoration and disaster recovery projects.
