Job summary

Buildings By Design is seeking a Field Superintendent to lead our General Contracting team on commercial projects. You’ll oversee daily field operations, enforce safety, manage schedule adherence, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship while coordinating with project managers and on-site specialists.

You’ll manage look-ahead schedules, document inspections, and collaborate with clients and architects to keep the project on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Required: A minimum of three (3) years field supervisory experience at a construction company.
• Preferred: A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience on projects greater than $5 million.
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: An AS degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or similar.
• Required: Current driver’s license to drive to and from job sites.
• Preferred: OSHA (30 Hour Outreach) and CPR certification.

• Maintain and manage a rolling three (3) week look-ahead schedule for all trades and project milestones.
• Oversee field execution to ensure work meets safety, quality, and craftsmanship standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to stay on track and within scope.
• Conduct and document required inspections and quality control checks using project management software.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and architects to solve problems in real time.
• Monitor jobsite progress and proactively communicate issues or delays.

You’ll lead subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, and represent Buildings By Design on the ground – keeping project running smoothly from start to finish.

• Preferred: A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience at a construction company supervising projects greater than five ($5) million dollars

Other

• Required: Current driver’s license to drive to and from the job sites. Heavy Equipment Operator certification.
• Preferred: OSHA (30 Hour Outreach) and CPR certification
