Job description

Our client is a well-established, privately held general contractor with more than 80 years of history and a national multifamily platform. They build ground-up, wood-frame and podium apartment communities, senior living and student housing for repeat developer clients, with a strong backlog across several high-growth U.S. markets. They deliver work through general contracting, design-build and construction management.

Job Description

We are hiring Project Managers to lead ground-up multifamily projects from preconstruction through closeout. Openings are in Dallas-Fort Worth and Phoenix (immediate need), plus Austin, Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Tampa and Orlando, with some traveling roles. You will own the budget, schedule and client relationship on your projects and work side by side with your Superintendent to deliver them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, architects, and vendors, helping drive future opportunities and supporting the company’s ongoing growth.
  • Lead hands-off meetings, oversee design and pre-construction phases, and create master schedules for negotiated/GMP projects.
  • Plan job start-ups, manage schedules, identify cost-saving measures, and lead key project meetings to ensure seamless execution.
  • Keep open lines of communication with all project stakeholders, addressing any issues that arise on-site swiftly and professionally.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, maintain project timelines, and prepare detailed two-week look-ahead schedules for all teams involved.
  • Ensure timely closeouts, conduct post-mortem reviews, and schedule follow-ups and walkthroughs to guarantee client satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate
  • 3 to 5+ years as a Project Manager with a multifamily general contractor
  • Ground-up wood-frame multifamily experience
  • Strong command of budgets, schedules and subcontract management; Procore experience a plus
  • Construction Management or related degree preferred
  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, one of the markets above; OR open to full-time travel across the Southwest or Midwest

  • Annual bonus tied to project and individual performance
  • Comprehensive benefits, including 401(k) with company match, HSA with employer contribution, tuition reimbursement and a professional development stipend
