Job summary

ARCO National Holdings in Albany, NY seeks a motivated Project Manager Intern to support our design-build team during the summer. You will assist with estimating, scheduling, design meetings with owners and engineers, buyout of subcontracts, permits, and site visits to keep projects progressing.

The internship offers hands-on responsibilities, travel to job sites, and opportunities to transition toward a full-time role within a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program
• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Previous Internship or Co-op construction experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Estimating – describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects
• Scheduling – creating a working timeline for subcontractors/trades to complete the project on time
• Design meetings – attend design meetings with owner and team to understand proposals from structural engineers and architects
• Buyout – send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; receive and evaluate proposals, then award subcontracts
• Permitting – fill out permit forms, submit with drawings/fees, and wait for approvals
• Shop drawing and submittal review – review submissions and coordinate with PM to order materials
• Billing – manage subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications
• Job site visits – visit job sites with PM to ensure project runs smoothly
