Job summary

Walbec is seeking a Project Manager Summer 2027 Internship to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects across its Midwest operations. You will assist with scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, and communications while gaining exposure to bidding and estimating processes.

The role involves participating in meetings and site visits, collaborating with field personnel, subcontractors, and customers, and learning safety practices in both field and office settings

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
• Support scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, and communications.
• Gain exposure to bidding and estimating processes, including reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Attend project meetings, site visits, and field operations to develop an understanding of construction project management.
• Shadow experienced Project Managers and Operations leaders to gain hands-on experience in heavy highway and construction management.
