Job summary

Walbec, a leading construction materials and services company, is offering a Project Manager Summer 2027 Internship to support planning, coordination, and execution of heavy highway and construction projects. You will gain hands-on experience working with project teams on field and office activities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, and project communications.
• Gain exposure to the bidding and estimating process, including reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field operations to develop an understanding of construction project management.
• Assist with tracking project progress, production, budgets, and key project milestones.
• Support project documentation, contract administration, and recordkeeping activities.
• Collaborate with project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to support project success.
• Learn and apply industry safety practices while participating in field and office-based project activities.
• Shadow experienced Project Managers and Operations leaders to gain hands-on experience in heavy highway and construction management.
